Focus on
North America
Consider studying abroad in Canada and Mexico!
Canada, our neighbor to the North, is the largest trading partner of the United States. Total U.S. trade with Canada is greater than its trade with all 15 countries of the European Union combined. From Montreal, the second-largest French-speaking city in the world after Paris, to Ottawa, Canada's capital city and undiscovered gem of North America, Canada offers students a dynamic and multicultural environment which is close to home.
Mexico, our neighbor to the South, shares a unique bond with the United States, from the perspective of investments, immigration, trade, history and culture. Spend a semester or year in Mexico and uncover a magical land of contrasts. As you improve your Spanish skills, you will also unearth Mexican culture & history - from the Mayan ruins in Chichen Itza to the Teotihuacan pyramids in Mexico City.
Mobility awards of up to $2,500 are available for study at a North American
(Canada or Mexico) partner institution. For more information see the Awards page.
Students can also apply for the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship
for study abroad, now
available online.
